Storm Bay B & B is situated on the southern tip of the Tasman Peninsula, 75 minutes from Hobart International Airport and ten minutes from historic Port Arthur. Besides being noted for its historic sights the Tasman Peninsula is also famous for its incredible scenic vistas and its pristine natural beauty. Described as ‘a world of its own’ and the ‘undiscovered part of Tasmania’, the Tasman Peninsula has many activities that are all close to the property.
Your entry ticket to the Port Arthur Historic Site is for two consecutive days and includes a 45 minute orientation with a Tour Guide, and a short cruise around the harbour to Point Puer Boy’s Prison and the Isle of the Dead Cemetery. If you dare and are strong at heart you can join one of the after dark Ghost Tours and be enthralled at the macabre tales that still echo in the corridors late at night- available only on Thursday, Friday and Saturdays.
Take a short drive through the farmlands to Saltwater River and experience the place of dread for even the hardest convicts. Entry to the Coal Mines Historic Site is free and interpretative guide maps are available from the brochure stand in the B & B.
